Jayoon Choi Illustrates Asymptote Journal's Fall 2025 Issue

Jayoon Choi, a participant in the Beyond Clarity Workshop 2025, has created a series of haunting illustrations for Asymptote journal's Fall 2025 issue, titled "Palimpsest."

As Lee Yew Leong wrote in the editorial, "The world rewrites itself daily, unable to leave the past alone."

Jayoon Choi says "the human body serves as a relatable metaphor, since all readers inhabit one. Figures often appear without clothing, hairstyle, gender, or race, so that attention settles on a core non-binary human presence."

This approach resonates with Beyond Clarity's exploration of the gaps between discrete and continuous representations.

More information about Jayoon's work for Asymptote can be found on her website, and the full issue is available at Asymptote journal.
